What do you do for a living?

Work session

Design teams

  1. Dane, Ashton, Ebonique, Angelique
  2. Xavier, Josue, Mamadou
  3. Martin, Liam, Muhammad
  4. Thien, Chris S., Jaden, Tala
  5. Chris H., Raymond, Amina, Juda

The prompt

The Haunted __________ vs the Wrong AI

You can develop:

  • Backstory
  • Character designs
  • Level designs
  • Main OST theme
  • Game mechanics (diagram; single-page demo)
  • Hype (poster/advertising; packaging)

Goals

  1. Work within scope (we'll present results at the end of meeting #2)
  2. Have fun
  3. Entertain the rest of us

Tips for collaborative work

  • Ideation: everyone jots down ideas on paper, and then shares
  • Social awareness: listening to and accepting other people's ideas
  • Improvisation: cultivate curiosity about unpredicted results

Presentations

Each group: create a design document with the following:

  1. Name of the game (with the finished title)
  2. List of group members, with their professional roles (artist, level designer, writer, etc)
  3. Photos of all sketches
  4. Brief writing of concepts, ideas, etc.

Email this to me (erik.brown@asmprograms.org) so we can see this on the big screen.
