Sue Friesz: Artist Statement

My environment has a direct affect on my work as an artist. Since moving from rural to city life most of my work has been centered around urban architecture and the environment with themes such as urban sprawl, eco-friendly cities, and utopian cityscapes.

Key elements such as harmony, balance, and simplicity are important. Line is also significant. I use it in a gesture, contour-like manner to create energy, expression, and spontaneity.
