Game Designer Statement

11th grade
When I first started game design, I began as a programmer and while that was fun and engaging for me, I also felt like I was limiting myself to what I thought I would like. As of this term, I've been experimenting with game art such as backgrounds, assets, and OCs and I've really been enjoying it. In my art I like to include little references or easter eggs to either my personal life or to pop culture I find amusing/interesting. I like knowing that even though my art is just a small piece to a full game, I can still see my personality and touch in it and it just makes me feel more connected to it. I like to think that game design has really opened my horizons as to what I enjoy and want to do in the future. Maybe I'll try music composition next.
